Adding Past Projects

Thursday, January 30th, 2014

Kennedy's NurseryI think it is time for me to add some of my older projects to my blog. One of the first projects I did when I started back into making miniature room boxes was a nursery. A dear friend who worked at CompuServe when I was working there as contractor told me that he and his wife were to adopt a baby from China. This one bit of information ignited the spark that sent me back into the world of miniatures. I decided to make them a miniature nursery using the pictures they uploaded. Many of his co-workers watched over the weeks and months as I created this for them.  Read the story of Kennedy’s Nursery.

Heading South

Tomorrow, my daughter will be taking me to Duluth, Ga for the E3 mini retreat. I know it is late, but I still have lots to do. Dishes and clothes are washing. I am getting last minute computer stuff done. Then I have loose ends to tie up as I pack my items for my sales table. Gather and pack my tool kits, my meds, and my clothes. I promise pictures of my project. I am doing the quarter scale garden shed. I can’t wait!!!!!

Closing a Chapter

happyhouse Today, my best friend closed her miniature shop, Happy House Miniatures. She has owned   and  operated the store for 26 years. Due to her vision loss and other health problems, the shop had become hard for her to manage. It is sad when a shop closes. Especially when it is a miniature shop. There seems to be so few that are open now. I do know I plan to visit her at home as often as I can. Hopefully, at least twice a month. Maybe not as much during the winter months because of bad weather. We can talk miniatures and I can show her the latest items I have come up with. Long Live Friendship!!!
