Well make that “Up” but not so much “Running”. At lease my website is back up. This year has been something else. On April 19 I had knee replacement surgery followed by several weeks in a rehab facility followed by physical therapy.  I did bring some of my mini projects to rehab as I seemed to have plenty of time to work on unfinished projects of the quarter scale variety.

Then a month a go, I found I have breast cancer. Surgery will take place on August 25. This will be followed by a course of radiation. Not sure about chemo. I’ll find that out after surgery.

My intentions are to continue working on my projects and to work on my mini food and flowers. I have made y peaches and they are waiting for their fuzz to be added. I have worked on pears as well. Next will be apples. My intention is to be able to be a dealer at the Dollhouse/Miniature show Nov. 5 in Mooresville NC.

I really look forward to December when I can get with my mini friends for Dinner and a Mini. It’s always exciting to see what project has been created for us to work on. This year, we worked on Geppetto’s workshop. I haven’t finished mine yet, but as soon as I have it finished, I will upload a picture. The scene fits in a softball display box and comes with a lighted fire in the fireplace. I still have to finish the trim on the outside and make the selves and the counter on the inside. Then, I can make tiny toys and other furniture for the shop. For now, I must set this project aside to make way for Christmas. I promise to return to Geppetto’s Shop soon.

I photographed some more food items that I recently made for my table at the online miniature show/sale. The show opens Aug 20. Tomorrow, I plan to actually set up a table so I can see all I have and can easily find the items that sell. Hmmm..is that called organizing? Right now, everything is in their boxes located on my mantle. Which is where I have my photography station set up. It seems like everywhere I look I see mini food!

I am working on getting items ready, photographed, and online for my first online miniature show. I finished several baskets of bread and a few decorative jars of candy.

I need to find the best ten photos of my work in both food and flowers. So today, I took time to photograph my latest work. A few pieces I made a few years ago and might have to remake if it is thought they are really great. I you would do so, please click “LIKE” of your favorite ten or less.

I have been working on photographing items to go in my Etsy shop. Today, I added a few more fruit items. My Easy shop now has a  small basket and a large basket of apples. As soon as I get more photographed and uploaded, I will make more.

I worked several hours today on macro photographing some of my miniature food and then placing them on Etsy.

Most of what I worked on was side dishes for meals. After all, our dollhouse people need good meals as much as we do. The presence of food on the table makes a dining room come alive.  I love creating miniature food for dollhouses and roomboxes. I like to see how realistic I can make each item. I have made miniature food for a while now and it must look realistic. I posted a real Christmas Candy Cheesecake on my Facebook page and a lot of people thought it was a miniature cake. I must be doing something right. Here are some of the side dishes and one of my complete dinners

I love peaches! I love the smell of fresh peaches at the farmers’ market. I love the colors of peaches. I don’t even mind the fuzz on peaches. So, naturally, I like making peaches. My favorites are the peaches with the reddish blush. If you look closely at the peaches I make, you can even see the peach fuzz.  You might actually think you can smell the peaches if you happen to pass by my sales table at one of the miniature shows I attend. I am planning many more displays of peaches. Here are two of my baskets of peaches.

I think I may have hit on the right idea to make the work on my miniature macro photography work. After some great ideas from my son Jonathan, I opened Lightroom (newest update) and tethered my camera to my laptop.  I can edit the photo right after I shoot the item. With using a macro lens, I can even slide my backdrop to move my item to center it. After taking the pictures this weekend, I did find out I need to use a lint roller as little white specks popped up.
