I had a fun time creating some International food starting with one of my favorites, Mexican. I actually went out to eat with my son’s family to photograph what they had for dinner and then go home and recreate it in miniature using polymer clay. Here are some of the items I came up with. Below are the different Mexican dinners I made.
After starting the year with a fall resulting in a broken wrist and surgery, it is time to get back to the business of making my miniature foods. I think I need to start with a bit of organization. Do I really know what all I have in my stash of miniature dishes, pots, pans and other things? I think not! It is time to find out just what I have on hand and see what I need.
Then I need to start on my workshop submission for N.A.M.E. convention in Indianapolis next summer. I’ll leave this bit of miniature eye candy. Grandma’s Biscuits.
Workshop I taught at the miniature show in Mooresville, NC
On August 23, 2018 I will be teaching my first major workshop at the N.A.M.E. National Convention at Charleston, SC. We will be making a Charleston Low Country Boil complete with shrimp, corn on the cob, potatoes, and smoked sausage. We will serve it up the Charleston way, on newspapers. My actual class is full. For dollhouse clubs near me, we can work it out for a workshop at your club meeting.
Today was peach day in my workshop. I love making peaches. This will do for a start. However, I will need many more for my upcoming dollhouse and miniature shows. I needed to make a basket of peaches for an order to be mailed today. Did I say that my baskets of peaches are scented? Actually, they can come scented or unscented. This is a picture of the finished basket and today’s peach making session.
I just finished two baskets of grapes for my Etsy shop and upcoming miniature shows. I need some other items with grapes. I am thinking of wooden buckets, crates, and wine barrels. BTW, each grape is rolled by hand from polymer clay, baked, and the glued on a special stem.
I photographed some more food items that I recently made for my table at the online miniature show/sale. The show opens Aug 20. Tomorrow, I plan to actually set up a table so I can see all I have and can easily find the items that sell. Hmmm..is that called organizing? Right now, everything is in their boxes located on my mantle. Which is where I have my photography station set up. It seems like everywhere I look I see mini food!
I am working on getting items ready, photographed, and online for my first online miniature show. I finished several baskets of bread and a few decorative jars of candy.
I need to find the best ten photos of my work in both food and flowers. So today, I took time to photograph my latest work. A few pieces I made a few years ago and might have to remake if it is thought they are really great. I you would do so, please click “LIKE” of your favorite ten or less.
I have been working on photographing items to go in my Etsy shop. Today, I added a few more fruit items. My Easy shop now has a small basket and a large basket of apples. As soon as I get more photographed and uploaded, I will make more.
